What does the SkyComm exam structure look like?The SkyComm exam is divided into seven sections, each designed to evaluate a specific skill set: General Questions: Aviation-related Q&A to assess fundamental communication skills. ATIS Comprehension: Listening to and interpreting an ATIS message. Receiving Clearance: Simulating interactions with air traffic control for clearances. Position Reporting: Communicating positions and directions using standard phraseology. Emergency Flight Scenario: Responding to an emergency while communicating with ATC and passengers. Video-Based Situational Analysis: Describing and analyzing an aviation-related video. Picture Description: Observing and describing an aviation image in detail.

How long is my score valid for?The certification validity depends on your ICAO proficiency level: Level 4: Valid for 4 years Level 5: Valid for 6 years. Level 6: Valid indefinitely, as it indicates expert proficiency. The validity might change based on the standards set by each country.

How long does the SkyComm exam last?The total duration is approximately 45 minutes.

When can I get my exam result?SkyComm will issue a certificate indicating your exam score and send it to your email address within 5 days.

What skills does the SkkyComm exam assess?The SkyComm exam evaluates your ability to: Comprehend and interpret aviation-related information, such as ATIS messages. Communicate effectively during routine tasks like receiving clearance or position reporting. Handle non-routine and emergency situations, including conveying critical information under pressure. Analyze and describe visual and situational aviation content, such as videos and pictures. The test focuses on six ICAO criteria: Pronunciation, Structure, Vocabulary, Fluency, Comprehension, and Interaction.

Is the SkyComm exam recognized internationally?Absolutely. SkyComm complies with ICAO standards and is recognized by aviation authorities, including: Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Organizations worldwide adhering to ICAO and EASA regulations. We are also pursuing endorsements from global entities like the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to expand international recognition further.

What happens if I fail the SkyComm exam?If you do not achieve the minimum Level 4 proficiency: You can retake the exam after a 30-day preparation period. Use this time to review your weaknesses and improve your skills. SkyComm offers training resources to help you prepare.

How are candidates rated?Candidates are assessed by two independent raters using ICAO’s proficiency scale, which ranges from Level 1 to Level 6. The key elements of evaluation are: Pronunciation: Clear and comprehensible speech. Structure: Use of appropriate grammatical forms. Vocabulary: Range and accuracy of aviation-specific terminology. Fluency: Smoothness and spontaneity of speech. Comprehension: Ability to understand and respond to spoken information. Interaction: Skill in managing dialogues, including clarifications and exchanges.

How do I edit or remove the 'Frequently Asked Questions' title?You can edit the title from the FAQ 'Settings' tab in the Editor. To remove the title from your mobile app go to the 'Site & App' tab in your Owner's app and customize.

What if I want to object to my exam result?In case of significant disagreement between the two independent raters, a third independent rater will review the candidate's performance. The third rater's score will be the final score. However, if you would like to object to your exam result, you need to fill out a form and send it to us. We will be happy to provide you with the objection form.
